On the show this week: Wall-E’s connection to Yonkers, Rosie O’Donnell’s “affair” with Cindy Adams, and Nick DiPaolo’s very unfunny experience following a USO comedy show.

She’s ‘One of Us’: Joan Osborne to headline Pleasantville Music Festival

The songstress responsible for one the biggest hits of the ’90s will be headlining this weekend’s Pleasantville Music Festival.

Joan Osborne, whose metaphysical-meets-the-mundane “One of Us” irked the Catholic League but rocketed to No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1996, is slated to start her set at 7:30 p.m. this Saturday at Parkway Field (48 Marble Ave.). Also scheduled to perform at the fest are Graham Parker, deSol, Back Door Slam, Nannyhagen Creek and Buffalo Eskimo.

joan-o.jpg“One of Us” was so popular back in the day, even Dr. Evil claimed to have written it. But whatever you do, don’t call Osborne a one-hit wonder. From her album “Relish,” she scored additional mainstream airplay for the sensual “Right Hand Man” and the eclectic “St. Theresa.” And “Ladder” is yet another soulful track from that CD, if you’re interested.

Semi-interesting tangent: John Legend once recorded a cover of “One of Us” that wound up on an album that also featured the vocals of yours truly. Click here if you want to know how that happened.
