Archive for the ‘Eva Amurri’
Podcast: Sept. 18 • 09.18.08
On the show this week: I name-drop Eastchester native Bobby Moynihan, who makes a strong “SNL” debut; Eva Amurri rolls her eyes at the style of Pound Ridge mom Susan Sarandon; and former LoHud dwellers Denzel Washington and Henry “The Fonz” Winkler were among a star-studded crowd to check out the USC-Ohio State game.

Suburbarazzi Week in Review on RNN: Letterman’s the ‘get,’ Moll’s on the ‘Net, and Amurri’s tête-à -tête • 09.05.07
Yesterday, I chatted on RNN about Oprah Winfrey’s upcoming interview of North Salem resident David Letterman; “Night Court” star Richard Moll’s Yorktown Heights shoot for an Internet mockumentary; and Eva Amurri’s rejection of the risque role that her mother, Pound Ridge resident Susan Sarandon, made famous.
After the break, find out the answer to this week’s quiz question: Chappaqua resident Bill Clinton and his nephew ran into the family of Al Gore’s oldest daughter at what unusual Manhattan location a couple of weeks ago?
For the second time in three months, a child of Pound Ridge resident Susan Sarandon had an uncomfortable exchange involving Sarandon’s role in “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.”
Her daughter, Eva Amurri, recently was offered Sarandon’s role of Janet Weiss in a “Rocky Horror” remake. Ben Widdicombe of the New York Daily News cites a “friend” to describe Amurri’s response:
She thought it was funny, but she turned it down because she’s more serious than that. She said, ‘Can you believe that’s what they’re offering me?’
Sarandon’s 18-year-old son, Jack Robbins, reportedly admitted in June to a Manhattan audience that he was viewing “Rocky Horror” in full for the first time. The Daily News said Jack — whose father is Tim Robbins — admitted “he’d never seen the film all the way through because his mother wouldn’t let him watch ‘the naughty parts.'”
Thanks again to Witticombe, who also reported today on the unusual Clinton-Gore reunion at Mars 2112.

Susan Sarandon pulls a Will Smith • 05.18.07
And by that, of course, I mean that she’s teaming up with her offspring for some on-screen drama. Susan Sarandon and Eva Amurri are set to play the mother-daughter team in the upcoming film “Middle of Nowhere.” The two have starred together before, in both “The Banger Sisters” and “Dead Man Walking,” but this is one of the first where they’re both in leading roles. Sarandon, who lives with Tim Robbins in Pound Ridge, will play an unstable mom who blows her older daughter’s college fund in order to get her youngest daughter into a beauty pageant.
According to Variety, it’ll be directed by John Stockwell, the same guy who did “Blue Crush” and “Turistas.” I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: “Little Miss Sunshine” needs a sequel, and that sequel better feature some desperate, bloodied spring breakers.
