Taylor Hicks, Gloria Reuben among stars teeing up for good cause in Mamaroneck

I know celebrities are supposed to be nice when they lend their name, time and (sometimes) money to charitable causes, but I thoroughly enjoyed meeting and interviewing former “American Idol” champ Taylor Hicks, former “ER” star Gloria Reuben, former New York Giants cornerback Jeremy Lincoln and “SportsCenter” anchor Trey Wingo in Mamaroneck yesterday at Autism Speaks’ 10th annual New York Celebrity Golf Challenge. All of them were good-natured and showcased great senses of humor.

I’ll be posting quotes and clips from my interviews with them in the days to come.
Other stars spotted at the event were former New York Knicks guard John Starks; “Late Show with David Letterman” announcer Alan Kalter; former New York Giants tight end Howard Cross; news anchor Jack Ford; and actor Gregg Bello. Kalter gave me some great quotes at last year’s event.

Yes I have also had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Taylor Hicks and he is indeed a very nice man.
Once again, our ‘Bama boy has done us proud. People would be amazed to know of the many charitable causes with which Taylor Hicks has been involved—not to mention the money raised for worthy causes by T.H. fans, affectionately known as his “Soul Patrol.”

I’ll look forward to hearing more about this when you write again. I’m so pleased you had such a positive experiance, and – as a Tay fan – I hear great stories of his kindness and graciousness, but I love hearing more!
Until next time,

Taylor is always giving of his time to special causes.
He’s a great guy and very talented. Looking forward to the clips.
Well before Taylor Hicks won American Idol, he and his bandmates actively supported several worthy charities. As Taylor’s star continues to rise, he continues to give of himself in order to raise awareness of, and funds for, these and other charities. The Shriners honored him earlier this year with a Lifetime Achievement Award, a recognition indicative of his genuinely caring spirit.
We love you Taylor!
Thank YOU, for writing good things about Taylor. He is goodhearted and charitable man. He has given his time and his talents to so many causes and continues to do so. Thanks Taylor and Thank you again for your kind words.
As a fellow Alabamian and fan I am excited to read such pleasantries about one of our favorite sons. Taylor has had
autism as a charity for some time now-indeed one of his favorite charities involves autism here in Bama so to read about this gladdens my heart. He has a kind heart and sweet spirit that allows plenty of room for giving back to the world that gave him his break. He is a fine example of a Southern gentleman and native Alabamian and I am happy that during his stay in New York he is being welcomed and greeted so warmly. Thanks again—we love Taylor in Bama!!
YEA TAYLOR
It is nice to read positive news about Taylor instead of ridiculous reports by some websites.
Yes he is definitely a southern gentleman, and Alabama can be proud!!
A forever fan!!!
I too have had the opportunity to meet Taylor and also found him very kind and handsome.
He has a very warm soul and is amazing in concert. Sure makes ya wanta get up and dance with him. He has all the right moves and when he plays his harp it adds spice. Cant wait to see him again on tour!
The best is yet to come for Taylor. He is wise, talented, kind, giving, handsome and born for the stage.
Taylor Hicks was a classy guy who supported many good causes with both his time and his $$ before he became a celebrity. Nice to see he is still the same caring person as well as one of the most talented performers of his generation.
An interview with Taylor Hicks would be a pleasant experience for sure, because looking into his eyes makes you know he’s for real. I met him, and I know this is true. His interest in giving of his time and talent for charity is well known among his fans. On stage, he is a total performer and entertainer, but off stage he is a kind, polite southern gentleman. He’s not a saint, but just a truly great guy. Didn’t know these kind of men existed today. We love Taylor Hicks! I wish I could make it to New York to see him in Grease. I can’t wait for his new CD to be released this fall!
How great it is to read some positive news on Taylor. We, his fans, know full well his talents, charisma, the charities he participates in, and it disturbs us greatly to read so many false and negative internet articles on him. He does not deserve all this negative press, but certainly deserves the positive. It is beyond my understanding to fathom why there are so many people who consider themselves writers, yet tar and feather a celebrity without cause or reason. He has kept his fans waiting for his next public event, and we can’t wait for his upcoming CD.
It is so nice to hear that you enjoyed meeting Taylor. He is a genuinely caring person who has done so much to help other people. And he has inspired and encouraged his fans to do the same. I have met Taylor and it was a great pleasure. He is very sweet and humble. And he is a real musician who is very talented and has a true passion for music. I look forward to the quotes and videos from your interview with him.
Taylor is awesome!
Glad he is getting out of the city and exploring a bit during his Broadway run. Mamaroneck is beautiful!
How was his game?
Look forward to more pictures and the interview.
