Stalking Lower Hudson Valley Celebrities … So You Don’t Have To

Great moments in Baldwin-brother spoof shows

April
24

Upset that we won’t get any new episodes of “Dirty Sexy Money”—and Billy Baldwin’s prescient, spot-on Eliot Spitzer impression—until 2010? Or September at the very earliest? Well, my friends, it is possible to get your Baldwin fix at the local multiplex right now.

Billy (who lives in Bedford) has a small part in “Forgetting Sarah Marshall,” starring in the show-within-a-show, the mock “CSI” series “Crime Scene.” I’ve never seen somebody lampoon David Caruso quite so perfectly … except, of course, David Caruso himself in “Jade.”

The best part of the whole “Crime Scene” setup—NBC actually created a website for the faux show: nbc.com/Crime_Scene/

All this got me to thinking: Which Baldwin brother does spoof TV (or film) the best? Remember “Cleaver”? Or, more recently, “The Celebrity Apprentice”?

And the nominees, along with video clips and a poll, are after the break.

Daniel Baldwin, “Cleaver”—A movie project cooked up by Christopher on the final season of “The Sopranos,” “Pork Store Killer” (as it was originally titles) was billed as “Godfather 2 meets Saw” and featured Daniel as the doppelganger for Tony Soprano. Here’s “The Making of ‘Cleaver’”:

Alec Baldwin, “Dora the Explorer”—OK, so maybe he didn’t intend to spoof himself, but I still find this one hilarious. In a nutshell: Baldwin’s infamous call to his “rude, thoughtless, little pig” daughter, synced up to an episode of animated series.

Stephen Baldwin, “The Celebrity Apprentice” —’Nuf said. If you never actually tuned in to see Upper Grandview’s Stephen in action, do yourself a favor and watch a clip, any clip. Very funny stuff.

Billy Baldwin, “Crime Scene”—Can’t leave this one out. Lots of great clips on the NBC spoof site, but here’s just one here for your viewing pleasure.

Making fun of David Caruso never grows old! The more the merrier!

Thanks, Vixen. That scene in "Knocked Up"—"pretend you're David Caruso in Jade"—ah, good times.

  3. Vixen

Have you ever tried "The Soup"? I have to admit I only watched the movie after I read the glowing reviews of Baldwins spoofing. Psst, don't tell anyone but in the meantime I have seen it twice!

    Vixen,
How did I know you'd already be here?
    Don't you ever sleep?

Oh, that's right, you can't. Because if you do, the police will find you and you'll have to go to jail for skipping out on you're court appearance for the second time.

Send any death threats to any celebrities lately?

Not looking forward to those three years you have to do for already sending death threats to David Caruso and his family, are you? Is that why your hiding like a coward?

You really need to find a different hobby.

Oh, and all this 'Baldwin spoofing Horatio' crap…
I bet you guys didn't even give them a second thought before you googled David Caruso's name today. Now the Baldwins are the coolest!! All because they're making fun of David, right??

    That's pathetic.

People can make fun of him all they want. But at the end of the day, he's still the Lead Actor on the #1 watched show around the globe. I don't see any of the Baldwin brothers achieving that, do you? Wasn't too terribly long ago that everyone was "picking" on them! What happened to that? I wouldn't know, since I'm not that shallow as to join in that with that kind of childish behavior.

Oh, and before you start in on him taking it for granted and getting lazy and blah blah blah, he doesn't take any aspect of the show, or it's people, for granted. And he certianly isn't getting lazy. He, and his co-stars, crew and writers keep people watching every week. Otherwise, you'd have nothing to pick on, slimy-no-nothing-little-gossip-monger-hiding-from-the-justice-you-rightly-desearve-like-a-coward Vixen.

    Bring it!

I don't know what kind of shit you have been smoking but you should quit that stuff. It is bad for you.
I don't have the slightest idea what you are talking about. Who runs from the police? You? Or Gabriele? Or XYZ? LOL

Did you watch the last episode? You call that acting? No wonder people have the urge to spoof about Caruso. He is hilariously BAD.
Besides number 1 watched show DOESN'T mean the best in quality.
You should really watch "Forgetting Sarah Marshall". The best Caruso-spoof since Jim Carrey. And dead on.
