I have always wondered why an actor should be taken an more seriously than anyone else in the community? I will listen to a neighbor who is a civil engineer, a city planner or an engineer when they speak on their own subject of expertise. But an actor? That is the ONLY profession where the practitioner earns a hefty fee for delivering word and ideas written for them by somebody else. Susan Sarandon and Mel Gibson as political advisors? Give me a break....

They have the right, of course, to voice their own opinions. We all do. But qualifications count, too. When it comes to my health, I'd rather listen to my doctor than my stock boker - or an actor. Same goes for local and national issues.
