Stalking Lower Hudson Valley Celebrities … So You Don’t Have To

The Contrarian Viewpoint: DMX is just a dog hoarder, that's all

tjndc5-5basux9uc2h14avx6bw_layout.jpgHere’s an interesting theory, espoused by Boston’s Weekly Dig blog. Maybe Mount Kisco rapper DMX isn’t actually the dog abuser that the Arizona cops have painted him to be. Perhaps, in fact, he’s just a misunderstood animal lover—someone who loves doggies so much he had a pit bull tattooed across his back, uses dogs on his album covers, and even launched a line of canine couture (which, incidentally, he’s now being sued over).

After the break, I’ll recap blogger David Thorpe’s theory on the whole Earl Simmons quagmire, and how it all basically boils down to a simple “Of Mice and Men” pathos.

Here’s some of what Thorpe has to say:

What are we to think of someone who claims to love dogs, yet consistently takes on more pets than he can control or maintain? I’ll tell you what we’re to think: compulsive animal hoarding. …

Recent research has pointed to a direct correlation between psychological problems and the tendency to hoard … Hoarding is very often a symptom of a greater mental illness. Ah-ha! Could X’s animal hoarding have something to do with his bipolar disorder? It certainly could, says I. …

So what’s to be done with DMX, who-like Lennie in Of Mice and Men-loved his precious creatures too roughly and wound up burning them up and burying them in the yard? The Humane Society states that animal hoarding cases are increasingly prosecuted as animal cruelty, so don’t be surprised if X goes to jail yet again. Also, don’t be surprised if he goes to jail for the large cache of firearms the cops found, or for the untraceable, wrongly licensed cars, or for what was cryptically described as a “usable amount” of marijuana.

Personally, rather than Steinbeck, I would have gone with an analogy to the “Pine Barrens” episode of “The Sopranos,” but the point remains the same: X loved his pretty little pets. He loved them so much he killed them and tried to bury them. And then the authorities discovered him hoarding the bodies and a few live ones got away. Sort of like a giant Russian running through the snow. The end.

  1. X FAN

yo ur just a hater on him.. get the facts straight before u post something like this.

he was not at his arizona home for quite some time and a caretaker was hired.

so how can u blame him?

if i were to leave my dog at my house for a while i would sure do the same thing
its not DMX's fault that the caretaker fucked up is it??

how do we know that he treats the dogs bad when he is living with them? they were only mal nurished because they were not being taken care of by the care taker.

plenty of people have plenty of pets, doesnt mean they are hoarding. come on now.

now think of that and do some research for once before u post something on ur site
