He’s baaaack: The Donald developes “Lady or a Tramp” for FOX

On the heels of the NBC’s decision to ditch “The Apprentice,” The Donald has switched networks and begun working on a new reality TV series about turning wayward party girls into well-mannered ladies. The show is being developed with RDF USA (of “Wife Swap” fame), and has been fast-tracked for the coming fall TV season.

Like so many of the successful new reality programs, “Lady or a Tramp” (note the clever Trump-Tramp wordplay) is a British import. The overseas the title was “Ladette to Lady.”

So why on earth choose part-time Bedford resident Donald Trump of all people to host this? According to RDF’s CEO, Chris Coelen, his decision to give former Miss USA Tara Conner a second chance makes him a role model for bad-girl rehab. Or something like that. As Coelen put it to the Washington Post, ”[Trump] has been through it. … He’s a guy who, like it or not, stood up and said, ‘This is screwed up and we’ve got to do something about it. … It’s rampant in our culture. … girls coming out of cars with no underwear, and shaving their heads, and in rehab one day and the next day at the club.”

For his part, Trump says he plans to be very involved with casting, and he’d prefer to just select the girls by “going into the various clubs and picking them out. That’s when you really see somebody in terms of what we’re doing.” In other words: Melania, your days are numbered.

NB: The photo above is of Trump with the “Deal or No Deal” women (not the contestants on “Lady or a Tramp”), and was taken at his 61st bday.
