Stalking Lower Hudson Valley Celebrities … So You Don\’t Have To

Third time’s a charm? ‘General Lee’ auction down to wire

May
29

schneider11.jpgThere are fewer that five-and-a-half hours remaining for eBay visitors to bid on John Schneider’s “General Lee” from TV’s “The Dukes of Hazzard.” With an opening bid of $100,000, who needs to send your kid to college, anyway?

Schneider, who played Bo Duke on the show, for weeks has been trying to sell his personal edition of the series’ iconic, bright-orange 1969 Dodge Charger. On his first attempt, the top bid of just under $10 million was deemed a hoax.

Suburbarazzi was first to report that the second eBay attempt, which subjected prospective bidders to a screening process, ended prematurely “because of an error in the listing.” The listing was since fixed, and we’re now back on the clock, which expires at 8 p.m. EST.

If I’m reading the listing correctly at the time this item is published, it appears that there’s only one bid of $100,000. That’s a lot of money, but I know a few people who’d prefer the General Lee to a custom Lexus, so it’s not over yet.
