Perhaps selling John Schneider’s “General Lee” on eBay was even more misguided than producing a movie version of “The Dukes of Hazzard.” (At least the latter featured Jessica Simpson in a bikini, for cryin’ out loud.)
The nearly $10 million eBay bid for the Mount Kisco native’s 1969 Dodge Charger appears to be a hoax, The (New York) Daily News is reporting.
Schneider, who played Bo Duke on the ’80s TV show, reportedly sought at least $1 million to produce a sequel to his film “Collier & Co.” Now, he plans to auction the car off-line and is mulling legal action against the allegedly fraudulent bidder, according to Allen Stockman, Schneider’s estate holder. Added Stockman:
If this guy was just doing it as a prank or to ruin someone else’s chances, he deserves to be hit in the pocketbook.
The winning bidder was listed as William Fisher, but I think we all know this is likely to be a pseudonym … for none other than Boss Hogg.
