Stalking Lower Hudson Valley Celebrities … So You Don\’t Have To

Matt Lauer interviews the heir and the spare after NBC News–er, I mean NBC–pays $2.5 million.

tjndc5-5ecwgxfri6pab6p0i0a_layout.jpgAs a policy, NBC News doesn’t pay for interviews…fortunately for them NBC does. Westchester-bred Today Show host Matt Lauer recently sat down with the pretty boy princes—William and Harry—for a show that will air around the time NBC broadcasts the Princess Diana tribute concert on July 1. Technically, the net paid for the rights to air the concert, but, according to a source for the NY Post, “”It’s not like they would pay for the concert otherwise…It’s a bunch of C-listers.” – C-listers, by the way, like Elton John—ouch!

The arrangement therefore, was an “unwritten quid pro quo between the broadcast network and the royals. No word on what Lauer asked the British royals during the q&a.

That $2.5 million would have been better spent on John Schneider’s “General Lee.”
