Matt Dillon brings Dinosaur Jr. back from extinction

Anyone else remember Dinosaur Jr., the alt rock band from the ‘90s? No? Alright, I guess I’m in the minority.
But I’m happy to say it’s a minority I share with Hollywood hotshot Matt Dillon. The Mamaroneck native is set to direct a comeback video for rockers, for “Been There All The Time.” The new song is on the band’s forthcoming album, Beyond. In an interview with Starpules, Dillon summed up the band’s recruitment of him like this:
“They said, ‘We wanna do a video, are you interested in directing?’. So I said ‘Yeah, what’s the song about?’ They said ‘Uhhh … chicks.’ And I said, ‘OK, so what do you want in the video?’ And they said ‘Uhhh… models?’“But I think the whole rock video thing is overdone, and I wanted to show that the band still have that raw edge playing as a band.”
In other words, Dillon nixed the whole babes-in-bikinis concept. So take note, Guster and Camper Van Beethoven, if you want your comeback videos to have that certain Poison aesthetic, you’re probably better off going to Kevin Dillon first.
