DMX misses court date — again!

It’s traffic court deja vu: Mount Kisco rapper DMX gets pulled over for blowing a red light in Yonkers on Feb. 2, 2007, fails to show up in court today, and the prosecutor then requests that warrant be issued for his arrest. Seriously.
This of course comes on the heels of Mr. Simmons’s court problems last year—getting hauled into White Plains jail, held overnight, and forced to post a $25,000 bond—which makes it all the more bizarre that he pulled the exact same stunt today! The only difference this time is that the judge didn’t issue the warrant because, according to DMX’s attorney, his failure to show was because he missed an airplane flight. The Yonkers traffic violation case was been adjourned to April.
Interestingly, he was also due in court yesterday, March 6, to answer to the still unresolved “misdemeanor aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle” case from last year (the one that landed him in jail). No word on whether he missed his flight for that appearance, too, but now, according to the DA’s office, both cases will be tried together on April 11.
Somebody please get this man a sensible lawyer … and, while you’re at it, a chauffeur.
