HDTV has wreaked havoc on Vanessa Williams’s pores

With her Botox-injecting, clothes-obsessed character, Wilhelmina Slater, on ABC’s “Ugly Betty,” I always figured that Vanessa Williams was just poking fun at the image-obsessed fashonistas of the world. This was only reinforced by an interview the Chappaqua resident gave to ET, when she said she drives around town in a truck and wears bulky sweaters and clogs.
Alas, it seems that Vanessa finally given into the dark side and become as paranoid about her appearance as her on-screen alter-ego. Specifically, she’s pissed off about how HDTV accentuates all of her facial imperfections. She explained her animosity to High-Def in an interview with Celebrity Week:
”[It’s] horrifying! My brother had it – I remember him being really excited about it – and you could see every pore, every hair, every line on the actress’s face. That is not my friend. I think you just have to pray and hope. The unfortunate thing is that it’s a vicious cycle. The more you work, the more tired you are, the more dehydrated you are, the worse you eat because you are on the set all day. And that’s what makes you break out.”
