The Bedford resident (and descendant of bunny poachers) just signed on to star in “In the Valley of Elah,” Paul Haggis’ follow-up to “Crash.” [Hollywood Reporter]
After a slow couple years, punctuated by random appearances on “Rescue Me,” Sarandon’s career is en fuego right now. She’s got a string of movies all scheduled for release in 2007: among them, Eleanor & Colette, The Colossus, Emotional Arithmetic, Enchanted, and Mr. Woodcock. It’s tough to pick a winner at this stage, but the Haggis project is certainly intriguing. Based on an article for Playboy, it follows the true story of a father who rejects the Army’s claim that his son, an Iraq vet, has gone AWOL and instead uncovers a murder.

You know, I used to think she had a brain between her eyes. Now after finding out she supports a CONVICTED cop killer, Mumia Abu-Jamal, I think she’s just like every other celebrity looking for the ‘Celebrity Cause of the Day’ to gain publicity. What a waste.
